Bill Hall started a three-run rally in the 10th inning with a home run, and Milwaukee pulled out a 6-3 win over St. Louis, in the opener of a four-game series between two teams now tied in the loaded National League Central.
Hall finished with three hits and Rickie Weeks hit a three-run homer. J.J. Hardy was 4-for-6 with an RBI while Jason Kendall doubled twice for the Brewers.
Flyers extend contract of F Lupul The Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Joffrey Lupul to a four-year contract extension, the team announced Monday. Per club policy, financial terms were not disclosed.
Lupul, 24, recorded 20 goals and a career-high 26 assists in 56 regular season games for the Flyers last season. He also registered four goals and six assists in 17 playoff games for Philadelphia.
Giants send Shockey to New Orleans The New York Giants traded tight end Jeremy Shockey to New Orleans on Monday in exchange for the Saints' second- and fifth-round draft choices in 2009.
"He's an impact player, and has been a key part of every offense he has played for -- both as a blocker and as a receiver," said Saints general manager Mickey Loomis. "This is a move we have been working on closely with the Giants, and we're really pleased to add Jeremy to our roster."
